Travis Weaver

Coaching and demonstrating proper movement is something Travis has successfully done in the Tahoe area since 2003 when he began teaching all levels of snowboarding at Alpine Meadows. In 2004, he became a personal trainer and started looking for the perfect workout plan to enhance both his sports performance and that of his clients. He was introduced to CrossFit in early 2008 and has been CrossFitting ever since. Travis competed in the second annual CrossFit Games in July 2008, and in the NorCal CrossFit Games Regional Qualifier in May 2009. In 2010, he participated in the NorCal Sectional Qualifier, and in 2011 and 2012 the NorCal Regional Team Qualifier.


When not teaching CrossFit classes, working with personal training clients or working out himself, Travis prefers to spend time with family and friends, and enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, wakeboarding and wakesurfing.


Travis specializes in CrossFit training as well as a posture correction and pain relief method called The Egoscue Method.

Dani Collins

Dani has always been an active person. Growing up at Lake Tahoe, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking and biking were some of her favorite activities. As a young adult, Dani discovered the gym, the fitness lifestyle, and began to appreciate the health industry as a whole. After a few years of long hours at a desk job, she gained weight, became out of shape, bored with the "gym routine" and was yearning for something more. A co-worker talked her into trying CrossFit, and after attending just one class, Dani was hooked!


CrossFit helped Dani gain confidence she didn't have before, changed her body composition and improved her athletic performance. She also credits CrossFit with having introduced her to an amazing community of people who didn’t just become gym buddies, but friends and mentors.


The passion she found in the gym inspired Dani to become a coach, and in 2014 she became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. She has since devoted her career to the health and fitness industry, and to inspiring others to find out what they are capable of – both in and out of the gym.

Harj Basi

Harj grew up as a farm worker in Yuba City, and her first experience with a CrossFit-type workout was picking and hauling fruit in buckets - a literal farmer-carry. She was always an athlete growing up and played field hockey in high school and for UC Davis.


While working as a middle school math, PE and health teacher in Santa Clara, she started competing in triathlons and was encouraged to try CrossFit as a way to train in the off-season. Harj joined her first CrossFit gym in 2005 and never looked back. She has competed in CrossFit competitions all over California, and in the CrossFit Regionals as a team member in 2013. CrossFit introduced Harj to competitive powerlifting, and she has since set a few American Records!


Harj has mostly used CrossFit as a way to make her better at her favorite sports: snowboarding, mountain biking, paddle boarding and wakeboarding. She has also used CrossFit as her main training program for endurance events including the AIDS LifeCycle Ride, The Relay (199-mile run), half marathons, and Olympic distance triathlons. Throughout 13 years as a CrossFit competitor and coach for kids and adults, Harj has managed to make having fun a priority, while building new friendships and muscles! She loves the fact that CrossFit brings people together to be the best version of themselves.

Denise Parker

Denise grew up on the beaches in Southern California and was a competitive athlete in her youth. She played volleyball for UC Santa Cruz, was named Captain and MVP for three years, Female Athlete of the Year, and graduated with a B.A. in Biology with emphasis on Athletic Training and Physical Therapy. In her quest to become an Olympic athlete, during her last year of college, Denise had the opportunity to try out for the Women’s National Team at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. She was cut in the second round, but when she returned to Santa Cruz, she decided to share her knowledge and passion for the sport and began her volleyball coaching career.


Denise moved to Truckee in 1993 to teach skiing and to continue coaching volleyball. She fell in love with the mountains and the lake and continued to coach various levels of volleyball including camps, clubs, at high schools and colleges. She discovered CrossFit in 2009 as a means of pre-season conditioning for her teams and worked out alongside her athletes to demonstrate that everyone needs fitness and strength. Denise became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in 2013 and believes being strong physically and mentally are lifelong lessons that can be applied in life, not only in the gym.

Nick Dearnley

A lifelong athlete who grew up playing soccer, golf, mountain bike racing, cross country and downhill skiing on the East Coast, Nick’s athletic interests have always been broad. While in college at the University of Vermont, he started ski instructing, weight training, and continued to pursue his primary passions: skiing and play soccer.

After college, Nick moved to Tahoe to ski. He took his first class at CrossFit Blizzard in 2012 and was hooked! Nick became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in April 2014 and has been coaching since then. He believes CrossFit is an amazing way to not only get and stay fit, but to help your athletic performance in all of the activities you love.

When he’s not in the gym, you’ll find Nick resort or backcountry skiing, mountain biking, golfing, playing tennis or on co-ed broomball or softball teams. He also enjoys backpacking, sailing “Sloopy” on Lake Tahoe, trail running and making the most of the Tahoe-Truckee lifestyle. Oh yeah, he also builds custom cabinets and furniture!

Jess Weaver

Jess was raised in the Bay Area and involved with gymnastics and dance growing up. She moved to Truckee in 2006 to pursue her dream of living, working and snowboarding in the mountains, and once she got here, never looked back.


After being introduced to CrossFit in 2010, Jess knew she’d found not only the best way to get and stay fit, but an incredible community of people who are interested in staying active so they can continue participating in the activities they love. While she appreciates the variety that CrossFit offers, Jess especially loves weightlifting and bodyweight movements, and enjoys working on skills that help improve technique.


When she’s not in the gym, you’ll find Jess out on the trails mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and having fun in Truckee and Lake Tahoe – most of the time, with friends she’s met through CrossFit!

Jay Wild

Jay is a professional paddler and ambassador, co-founder and Paddle Sports Director at Tahoe Waterman Corporation on Lake Tahoe. He uses CrossFit to train for paddling year-round and believes the variety in programming has helped him increase his fitness and to be ready for anything.


Since he picked up a paddle, Jay has qualified to compete with some of the top men’s outrigger canoe crews in California helping clubs win numerous races and has represented team USA at the stand-up paddle World Championships (bringing home individual and team medals), 3X top 20 finishers at BOP. Jay pushed his boundaries as a paddler and water athlete by placing 3rd overall in the prestigious and rigorous Ironmana race in Tahiti. Today, Jay dominates the world open category and still competes at the pro level for some events. He remains the fastest all-around paddler in California.
